About Me: The Heart Behind the Method

Hello! I’m Moira Kelly.

Moving to a new country is a brave adventure, but it’s also one of the most challenging things you will ever do. I know this because I’ve lived it. I moved from Croatia to the UK, navigating the same “language of real life” that you are facing right now. As an army wife and a mother, I understand the unique pressure of starting over while trying to build a home, navigate the school gates, and find your own place in a new community.

I am not just a teacher; I am a language strategist. With a degree in Italian Language and History from Croatia and a career that has spanned hospitality and whisky industry, I have spent my life bridging cultures. I am currently completing my TEFL certification to ensure that my natural experience is backed by the latest professional standards.

The Moira Method

I created At Ease English because I realized that textbooks don’t teach you how to talk to a British GP, how to handle small talk at a NATO dinner, or how to navigate a local Cheltenham supermarket.

My approach-The Moira Method-focuses on “Conversational Confidence.” We focus on the language you actually need for your specific life. Whether we are doing a “Walk and Talk” through the beautiful parks of Cheltenham or an online session to polish your professional English, my goal is to make you feel at ease in every situation.

When I am not teaching, you’ll probably find me exploring the Cotswolds, sipping a good coffee, walking my dog or keeping up with my son’s boarding school adventures. I’ve faced my own health hurdles along the way, which has thought me the importance of taking things at the right pace – a philosophy I bring to my teaching, too.
